Heanton Air Raid Shelter

Little information is known about this shelter. It could possibly be an observation post? It is certainly not a ROC Post (Royal Observers Corps Post).

It is build from red bricks with a concrete flat roof which is covered with soil and turf. There are two gardens on top of the shelter.

Access to the shelter would have been possible in three ways - an access tunnel in the hedge by the road which is the way we got in, or two access shafts from above. Both of these access shafts have been filled and covered now. One shows a glimmer of light.
